Aalborg University has filed a patent application for the E-core Transverse Flux Machine (ETFM) technology in 2001. The patent relates to the technical design/construction of the motor based on standard components. AWS has a co-operation with Aalborg University to improve and prepare this generator for mass production. As a result from this co-operation AWS has signed an exclusive license to the technology for the global fitness market, and has furthermore signed a buying option for the use of the patent in industrial applications.
Aalborg University has worked more than 7 years with the ETFM technology, and Peter Omand Rasmussen, Assistant Prof. M.Sc.E.E. has successfully defended a PhD. regarding the ETFM technology in 2003. |
